Serving the best of local produce

Local chef, restaurateur and food writer Mark Hix opened The Fox Inn in December 2020. Nestled in the Dorset countryside, just four miles from Beaminster, the pub is open every day (Sunday evenings from May 17th)

Enjoy food and drink sourced from the South West in the warm and welcoming surroundings of our 17th Century Grade II listed pub. Settle in by the open fire with bar snacks and a real ale or dine on locally sourced food and drink in the Garden Room with a wine list that champions British winemakers.

Take in the beautiful views of fields and rolling hills from the outdoor seating area.

We are open 7 days a week
11am-11pm (last dinner booking 10pm)
Sunday – last lunch booking 3.30pm
Sunday evenings – drinks and bar food only from May 17th

What Mark's Drinking

Working closely with local brewers, a good selection of beers from the South West are always featured alongside guest beers and a seasonal cocktail list showcasing local spirits such as Black Cow pure milk vodka and Julian Temperley’s Somerset Cider Brandy. The wine list reads as a charming tour of the local vineyards including Lyme Bay Winery and boutique vineyard, Castlewood who we have worked closely with to create our very own Devon Minnow Bacchus.
